New York City 2007

We took our bi-annual pre-Christmas trip to NYC this year. In all we had 14 family members who went. We took in Macy's, Tavern on the Green, Rockefeller Center, Saks FIfth Avenue, Toys 'R' Us, The Christmas Spectacular (Rockettes), Mary Poppins and The Grinch. We had great Italian food in Tribeca...I can highly recommend Accapella's. Pizza under the Brooklyn Bridge at Grimaldi's Pizzeria. New York City is great this time of year! Enjoy! Charlie

Texas A&M Football Weekend

Gameday at College Station is full of tradition. This is the weekend of Sept. 8, 2007 as the Aggies played the Fresno State Bulldogs in a triple overtime battle. The weather was extremely hot with a 110 heat index. A rainbow appeared in the overtime game that looked to end at the Bum Bright Football Complex. As the Aggies sang the War Hymn a rain started to fall to cool off the hot afternoon. Enjoy!

Virginia Military Institute, Lexington, VA

We went to V.M.I. on an invite from a very good friend of ours whose son was attending school there. Virginia and V.M.I. are rich in history, dating back to the founding of our nation. The school was founded in 1839 and is the nation's first state military college. The barracks seen in these images are the original barracks and the cadets still live in them today. Some of the former cadets that have attended are General Stonewall Jackson, General George C. Marshall, General George S. Patton & General Lewis (Chesty) B. Puller among other patriotic Americans. We stayed in a B&B that has been around since Pre-Civil War. The owner was a collector of historical memorabilia & he also had created action scenes with military figurines.
Enjoy!

Argentina

Tipiluke is in the Patagonia region of Argentina and to get there you have to fly into San Martin de los Andes. This mountain in these pictures has a cross on the top of it, which the story is told that when the three brothers went off to war years ago one did not return so the cross was placed in his remembrance. This is a 20,000 hectares (49,421 acres) ranch that was handed down from the grandfather who originally purchased it in 1909. Enjoy!

Oahu & Kauai

I can highly recommend the Hawaiian islands as a must see vacation place. I love the music and culture. The images are of Pearl Harbor, Waimaea Canyon, a luau, Carson & local places.
Enjoy!

Big Bay Balloon Parade - San Diego, CA

The Big Bay Balloon Holiday Parade in San Diego, CA was a sight to see. We took short 5 day trip out to southern California for the Holiday Bowl. It was the first time for us to go south of L.A., but I can highly recommend San Diego. Also, we stayed in the Gas Lamp District which has many options for hotels and eateries. Enjoy!

Cheers, Charlie

Here are some images from our trip out to Arizona. We went to Old Tucson which was is an old movie set where they have filmed numerous westerns & commercials. About 40% of the set caught on fire and burned under mysterious circumstances so a lot of it has not be replaced. The movie Tombstone was filmed here and maybe with some of these photos you can recognize some scenes that were filmed there.
